Ignia Privacy Policy
At Ignia, privacy is part of the product design.
Ignia combines a wearable necklace with a mobile app to help detect eating events, reconstruct meals, and estimate nutrition information. Because the necklace is worn throughout the day, we believe you should always understand what it captures, why it is used, and how you can control it.
Our principle: Your voice. Your food. Nothing else.
1. Information We Collect
Depending on the features you use, Ignia may process:
Account information such as your name and email
Detected eating events
Estimated foods, portions, calories, protein, carbs, and fats
Meal confirmations and corrections
Device and Bluetooth information
Voice information used for supported meal-correction features
Information you manually add to the app
Ignia is designed to collect only the information needed to provide its food-detection and nutrition features.
2. Voice & Audio Privacy
Ignia may use voice context to help correct detected meals.
For example, you may say:
“I only ate half.”
“Skip the rice.”
“We shared this.”
Ignia is designed around a rolling 60-minute on-device audio buffer and user-voice filtering so that relevant speech from the wearer can support meal correction.
Ignia is not intended to function as a general-purpose conversation recorder.
Certain voice processing is designed to happen directly on the device before information is used by Ignia.
3. Food Detection
When Ignia detects an eating event, it may create a meal record containing:
Time
Detected food
Estimated portion
Calories
Protein
Other supported nutrition information
Detected meals can be reviewed inside the Ignia app.
You may be able to:
Confirm the meal
Edit the food or portion
Delete the event
Mark it as Not Food
Ignia's nutrition information is estimated and may not always be completely accurate.
4. Privacy & Capture Controls
Ignia is designed to include a dedicated Privacy & Capture Center where you can manage how the wearable operates.
Available controls may include:
Normal Mode
Standard food-detection functionality.
Private Mode
Stops capture and provides a visible device privacy indicator.
Food-Only Mode
Restricts processing to supported food and eating-related functionality.
You may also be able to view daily capture summaries, delete information, export your data, and revoke cloud processing for supported individual events.
5. Cloud Processing
Some Ignia features may require secure cloud processing.
Where cloud processing is used, Ignia is designed to send only the information reasonably necessary for that functionality.
Certain features, including parts of voice processing, are designed to operate locally or on-device where possible.
6. Health Integrations
Ignia may allow you to send supported nutrition information to:
Apple Health through HealthKit
Google Health Connect
This may include information such as calories and protein.
These integrations are optional and require your permission.
You can manage or revoke access through your device or health-platform settings.
7. How We Use Your Information
Ignia may use your information to:
Detect eating events
Reconstruct meals
Estimate nutrition information
Calculate daily intake
